What you will do

You will contribute to projects across Stripe’s stack that directly impact the way millions of businesses operate. You have to deliver end-to-end with the support of the candidate’s manager and teammates. Stripe’s intern program is very competitive, and the expectations are very high.

Roles & Responsibilities

Drafting software applications that will be used in real time and have meaningful impact on Stripe’s business and users.
Continuous technical feedback through multiple rounds of code reviews or design discussions.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to proactively gain and incorporate feedback.
Should be a quick learner, working with the intern manager and teammates effectively, good communication is the status of the candidate’s work clearly, and developing with the latest AI tooling.

Basic Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, math, or a related discipline.
Exposure with programming, either through side projects or classwork. Stripe works mostly in Ruby, Java, JavaScript, Go, and Scala. Stripe believes new programming languages can be learned if the fundamentals and general knowledge are present.
Ability to adopt unfamiliar systems and form an understanding of those systems through independent research work and working with a mentor or SME’s
Ability to develop AI tools to accelerate development while applying rigorous critical thinking and professional judgement to review, refine, and validate all outputs.

Preferred Qualifications

University education, or equivalent work experience.
One or more areas of specialized knowledge (frontend, backend, infrastructure, or other technologies) balanced with general skills and knowledge.
Experience drafting high-quality pull requests, with good test coverage, and working knowledge to complete projects with minimal defects.
Familiarity with navigating and managing candidates’ work in new code bases, with multiple languages.
Clear written communication skills, with the ability to draft clearly to explain candidate’s work to stakeholders, team members, and other Stripes.
