Job Description
Nike is hiring a Software Engineer to work within its Global Technology organization. The role focuses on internal Consumer Product & Innovation software tools used to support the creation of Nike Footwear and Apparel products.
The position reports to a Software Engineering Manager based in Bengaluru. The engineer will work alongside other engineers, a Product Manager, and business partners on software projects aligned with Nike’s business objectives.
Basic Requirements
The position is intended for an early-career software professional who can contribute effectively in a collaborative and fast-moving development environment. The role involves solving technical problems while helping build modern tools for Nike’s product designers and wider creation community.
Applicants should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 0–2 years of software development experience.
- Experience working with React or Vue.js.
- Knowledge of cloud architecture, DevOps, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and related development tools.
- Experience using AWS services such as Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, and S3.
- Experience with Mocha, Jasmine, and Jest.
- A strong understanding of design patterns and computer science fundamentals.
- Preferred experience in AI, machine learning, and data solutions.
- Familiarity with modern software architectures, including REST, domain-driven design, and microservices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to develop effective working relationships with team members and other stakeholders.
Roles & Responsibilities
The Software Engineer will contribute to software solutions used by Nike’s design community. The work covers web development, front-end engineering, and cloud-native platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing, and operating scalable software solutions across web, front-end, and cloud-native environments.
- Creating responsive, accessible, and high-performing web experiences using modern front-end technologies, design systems, and browser capabilities.
- Developing and integrating cloud-native platforms, applications, APIs, and services using an API-first engineering approach.
- Taking part in Agile sprint ceremonies and completing assigned software development tasks.
- Working with engineers, product managers, designers, and business partners to deliver reliable, intuitive, and high-quality software.
- Contributing throughout the software development lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational activities.
- Improving the usability, performance, scalability, resilience, and maintainability of both user-facing applications and backend services.
Work Environment
The role involves close collaboration across engineering, product, design, and business teams. The selected engineer will contribute to software projects that support Nike’s product design and creation processes while working with modern web technologies, cloud services, and software architecture practices.
