Job Description

Honeywell is seeking a passionate and high-skilled Software Engineer I to contribute to the design, development, testing, and integration of complex software applications that power critical aerospace systems. As a software engineer at Honeywell, offers the opportunity to work on the latest cutting-edge technologies that support flight management systems, cockpit displays, environmental control systems, and engine control systems across commercial, regional, business, general aviation, space, and defense sectors.

As a key candidate of our software engineering team at Honeywell, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality software applications, solving challenging problems, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our systems and processes.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test moderately complex software applications using Oracle, Java, and web technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Perform software system & integration testing independently & collaboratively, ensuring robust and reliable software delivery.
  • Debug and resolve production issues on time, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Develop and maintain functional and technical documentation accurately.
  • Regularly participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices in software development.
  • Drive automation initiatives and scripting to enhance testing and deployment processes.

Technical Skills & Experience:

Programming Languages: Core Java and a basic understanding of Spring Boot.

Database: Basic knowledge of Oracle, PL/SQL, and SQL

Web Technologies: HTML, JSP, API development, JavaScript, React JS, and jQuery.

Testing: Working knowledge of testing methodologies for Oracle databases, web applications, user interfaces, and APIs. 

Tools & Processes: Configuration management tools and software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.

Qualifications

  • Completed a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electronics, Aerospace Engineering, or MCA.
  • 0 -1 years of experience in software engineering.
  • Aerospace domain exposure is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of DO-200B standards is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.
