Role and responsibilities
As a Backend intern, You will be assigned to a team within our Product team of z Hardware or the z/OS that supports the service structure and serviceability of our mainframe product set. As an Intern, You will be able to help design and execute productivity that is required for the infrastructure & design. Basic level of programming skills are required and a basic engineering understanding to perform this role. Basic fundamentals of Computer Science skills are highly desired and preferred however an electrical engineering background would also be advantageous. As a Backend intern, you will have the opportunity to experience firsthand what a mainframe customer expects from IBM as well as the technical complexity of this machine.
Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree
Required Skills:
 Interest to pursue career path in Technology
– Basic fundamental education in software design and/or test
– Knowledge proficiency in Computer Architecture
– Any one programming languages: C, C++, Java, Assembly
– Good testing & debugging skills
– Scripting knowledge: Python, JavaScript, Perl, Bash, etc
– Strong verbal & Communication Skills
Other Technical and professional experience
Knowledge of Mainframes
– Basic Knowledge of Computer NetworkingÂ
– Good Knowledge of web and mobile application development
– Exposure to Tools like (Git/GitHub, IntelliJ, etc.)
